Private Lessons
As with all my students and clients, we must first discuss your goals, time constraints, and health concerns. From here we will work together to determine our course of action. Some may want to simply learn on of the martial arts that are taught at Bourelle Martial Arts, others may have no need for attaining a black belt and only want an overview of self defense, yet others may be working towards a competition. Whatever the case may be, together we will recognize your goals and accomplish them.
Personal Training
Again, we must determine your goals, time constraints, and any health concerns before setting a plan of action. From there we will take body measurements, weight, body fat %, and lean mass % as well as fitness tests to provide a set point to refer to in order to see how your fitness has improved over time. Watching just your body weight can and will be misleading. Early on in your training it is quite possible to make great strides in fitness while your overall weight stays the same. What that weight consists of is more important. You’re body fat may have gone down, but your lean mass may have gone up, therefore your overall weight could very well stay the same. You will be re-evaluated most every month, depending on your plan.
After your goals have been discussed and understood, I will then determine a weight, cardio and nutrition program for you to follow. While most come to me for resistance training (weights), it is not uncommon to hire a personal trainer for cardio purposes. Many people struggle with cardio, not to mention many get bored simply running on a treadmill day in and day out. Breaking up your routine by doing a high intensity weight training routine, or kickboxing can help rejuvenate your cardio plan.
