Wilmington Martial Arts & Fitness Center

How are we different?

Bourelle Martial Arts has no boundaries! Many schools are bound by rules set by tradition and/or their associations. Our association (American Martial Arts Federation) on the other hand is a forward thinking group of individuals with one goal, help every student reach their goals through the best martial arts experience possible! While we respect the tradition of our arts, we are also aware that times change and we must change with it. We spend endless hours perfecting and readjusting our martial arts programs to make sure we turn out the best martial artists possible. If a technique we have used for years is no longer useful, then it is removed and replaced with a more useful technique.

You are an individual

No matter what martial arts program you chose to enter, you will be treated as an individual. Everyone has different goals when entering a martial arts program, some want to learn self defense, some want a great workout, others are simply looking for a hobby. There is no cookie cutter plan to produce quality martial artists; everyone has different goals and different capabilities. No matter what your goals are, the instructional staff at BMA will help you reach your goals. You will not be lost in the crowd!

Unique training methods

As a certified personal trainer (as well as a certified martial arts instructor), I am constantly researching new ideas for training students at the BMA. The first 20 min. of class is dedicated towards building balance, agility, strength, weight loss, flexibility, speed, concentration, coordination, reflexes, peripheral vision, and accuracy through the use of resistance bands, medicine balls, heavy bags, hand targets, and tennis balls to name a few. These are just a few of the reasons why the Wilmington Martial Arts and Fitness Center is... A New Breed of Training!
